Coming August 26th

UPDATE!!

Hello to all once again! I hope you have all been enjoying your summers so far, I know we have all been in Vienna these last couple weeks. What with all the sunshine, warmth, and smiley faces... No wait, its been freakin raining and freezing here! Its mid August and I was wearing two damn sweaters last night... I need to move to California.

Anyways, I am writing this announcement mainly due to this weather, I assume most of the Viennese crew are planning their escape to warmer climates in the next few weeks. However if you do so you risk missing The biggest INOPERAbLE Opening to date. So big it has been dubbed a Remmi Demmi Party!

This time around The gallery is being converted into a Skateboard Gallery featuring Customs, Rarities, and Collectibles. There are already 20 decks in the gallery waiting to be hung up, loads more in random post offices all over the world, and quite a few sitting on the floors of artists studios in Vienna. Some of the Artists who's work will be appearing in the show include but is not limited to Busk, Keramik, Brian Hart, Monica Locascio, Christee, ReThink, Ripo from New York, Undenk, Form Funk, The Maggot (die Made), Nychos, Lilo Krebermik, Jesse Suchmann, Nick Z, Conrad Kofron, the list goes on and on and on.

The show is going to be an all day fiasco in front of the gallery on Saturday August 26th, starting around 3 in the afternoon. I will be praying, making sacrifices and probably having to do some "favors" for Mother Nature in return for good or at least decent weather. If all goes well there may even be some grill action happening, and I'm not referring to fake teeth. So if you feel like it, bring along your favorite meats.

Well I guess thats about it. I will probably send another one of these annoying emails next week to remind the forgetful part of my mailing list. But until then, keep warm if you are in Vienna, and if you are planning any trips in the next weeks please take into consideration this Opening event.

All the best,
401RUSH

Custom Skateboard Project

The deal is that in Mid August INOPERAbLE will be turned into a skateboard Gallery. My goal is to have enough customized Skateboard to fill every wall from top to bottom. I figure I can house about 100 skateboards in the gallery. Obviously this is a shit load so I am in need of a shit load of artists to donate.

If you are or ever were a skater you probably have an old deck lying around that was either too scratched to skate or just lost its pop. It doesn’t need to be the worlds best deck, or made from the best maple in Canada, it just needs to have the shape, old school or new school (modifications are also totally cool).

I am hoping this will be a somewhat successful show in terms of decks being submitted. I plan on this being the biggest INOPERAbLE show to date. Hopefully on the night of the opening I will close part of the street and get a grill going. So if you donate and live anywhere near Vienna, or want to visit, then is your chance.

UPDATE!

So I managed to score some sponsorship from Nike SB and Stil Laden. Unfortunately I only scored 20 decks and they have already gone. Sorry about that but People were really quick on the draw and I was pretty eager to get them in the hands of some really good and important artists.

If you are still interested in doing a deck, I would first suggest calling your old skater buddies, everyone’s got one.

Second, if you have the balls just go to a skate shop let them know what’s up and chances are they probably have some old decks lying around in the back. Hell you might even score a cheap blank…

Third, you can check the world of internet. Ebay is always a sweet bet but paypal is a bitch! So you can also try the website www.blankdecks.de I think it’s pretty much a world wide skate shop.

Lastly, thanks to Tony Hawk and loads of shit corporations Skateboards are being made in mass quantities but not exactly up to paar. These are sold in toy stores and department stores all over.

Remember for the show, quality, ply and pop doesn’t matter, its all about your style and creativity on the deck! And please try and get it to Austria by August 18th. That means if you live outside Austria sending it before the 18th!!!

If you have any more questions send me an email and I’l do my best to answer asap.
